Haul Time! - Ulta, Kohl's, Mally, and More!

Hello! One final post for today and my desk area will be clean and everything will be put away! Well, except for the nail polish I just bought...it's a never-ending cycle.

This is actually a smaller haul; I got a couple orders from Ulta in because they said I could have free shipping and you better believe I took advantage of that and...I think everything else I actually got on sale. Hmm. I like sales.
This is the only bag/box shot I have, so I'll start with what I got from Mally Beauty!

Memebox #52 Thumbs Up! Beauty Box - Unboxing and Review!

Hello! Do you love mysteries and surprises? Asian beauty products? Getting things in the mail? Then have I got something perfect for you! Actually, I'd be surprised if you like those things and haven't heard of Memebox yet.

Memebox is a Korean "kind-of-subscription" service that has an English website and ships globally! People call it a subscription service, but it's not really since you don't actually subscribe to it; you pick and chose which boxes you want to purchase and there's no monthly fee or anything. I've been interested in getting a Memebox for a while now (ever since I watched Allura Beauty do an unboxing) but the way Memebox works is that you purchase a box waaaaay in advance and then you have to wait for it to ship to you from Korea (unless you splurge/get a deal on EMS shipping). I'm a very impatient person, and I hate paying for and waiting for things to ship, so I put it off for a while. Then, at the end of August, they had a special where you can order any two boxes and pay shipping just for one so I decided to go for it. They actually do offer value sets where you can purchase two, three, four Memeboxes at once (though you can't choose, they only offer pre-made sets) and just pay for shipping once. Also, you get a free upgrade to express shipping with the value sets. But I wanted to make my own set, so I purchased the #52 Thumbs Up! Beauty Box and the #59 Halloween Special. I just got my Thumbs Up! box, but the Halloween one isn't shipping until October 10th so...the wait continues.
Man, everyone apparently uses pink bubble mailers!

My First Shiro Cosmetics Order! - Review and Swatches!

Hello! Hope you guys are having a good weekend! I have some really exciting things to share with you guys, one of which is my very first Shiro Cosmetics order!

I've been super into indie cosmetics companies lately (ever since my first Glamour Doll Eyes Of The Month!) and have made it a sort-of goal to try as many as possible! ...the problem with this being that I end up with a ton of loose eyeshadow/pigments that I will probably never, ever make it through in my lifetime, so I think I'm going to start just ordering sample baggies unless there's a color I really, really like (or I can't get it in a sample size).

Which is what I did with Shiro Cosmetics! In the same vein as Geek Chic, Shrio Cosmetics makes shadows/face products/lip products themed on geek/nerd and pop culture. They have a very professional and easy to navigate website and overall I am very pleased with this company and highly recommend that you check them out!
I love getting mail!

Ulta Haul! - Benefit, Mario Badescu, NYX, and More!

Hello! Hope you're all having a good week! I'm...90% sure it's Wednesday, so halfway through! ...It's hard sometimes to remember what day it is when your work schedule is kind of messed up.

For this post I have an Ulta haul for you guys! Ulta's been having another "21 Days Of Beauty" promotion going on so they've had a lot of really great deals and gifts with purchase (GWPs from now on because acronyms!) in-store and online. Most of the time, I feel like I get better deals online; things are usually in stock and I don't feel like I have to worry about products being touched by strangers (seriously, the drugstore side of my Ulta is a mess; if it's unsealed, you can bet it's been used). The only things I really like to stop into my Ulta for are a. Zoya nail polish, b. clearance, and c. sometimes they're more lenient with GWPs and will give them to you if you're close enough (if you have to spend $35 to get a GWP and you only spend $32, they'll usually give it to you). Otherwise, online all the way!
Lots of things in bags this time!

September 2014 Ipsy Bag! - Unbagging and Review!

Hello! Hope you're having a good Saturday! The weather has been really weird today; it was warm and sunny this morning/early afternoon, then it stormed, now it's that weird twilight-but-with-sun. So it goes with fall and season transitions. I don't like transitions very much.

So let's talk about positive things! Like getting fun things in the mail! I love subscription services, especially when what you get is a surprise, especially especially when said mystery subscription (at least, it's a mystery if you don't spoil it for yourself) is just $10 a month, shipping included.

I'm talking about my Ipsy subscription! This is probably one of the most well-known beauty subscription services (I would argue that Birchbox is the best known beauty subscriptions) and for good reason. I got my September 2014 bag and, overall, it was pretty neat.
Who wouldn't be excited to get a shiny pink bubble mailer?

September 2014 Glamour Doll Eyes Of The Month!

Hello! I'm on a roll today with two posts! This is will get everything "old" cleared out from my around my desk; it always feel good to have a clean space.

This post is going to be all about my September 2014 Glamour Doll Eyes Of The Month (from here referred to as "OTM" due to laziness)!

If you don't know, the Glamour Doll Eyes OTM is a monthly subscription from the indie cosmetic company Glamour Doll Eyes that you can purchase in different increments. It is not a recurring subscription, however, so if you only choose to sign up for one month, you'll have to fight for it again the next. And you will have to fight for it. There are only 120 spots available and there are very few individual bags (most people sign up for a few months; I really wanted to get a year's subscription, but I have to wait until January. I could only get a three month, which means October will be my last month and I will have to fight for it in November). You can sign up to be notified when the window to purchase a subscription opens up and they sell out within the hour. You get a different, exclusive pigment every month, along with some candy and maybe even some extras! Vee, the owner of Glamour Doll Eyes says she wants to try and make every month an "extras month", which makes this subscription even more awesome.
Every month comes in a pretty bag (it actually gets mailed in a white bubble mailer to keep things safe, but that's kind of boring)!

Haul Time! - Sephora, Zoya, Bath & Body Works, and More!

Hello! Hope you're having a great start to your Thursday! Not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I actually started working part-time; same job and everything, I now just work Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Technically, my "last day" at work was September 4th, but due to timing (and other) issues, they haven't been able to hire someone to take my place so, instead of abandoning my office, I'm sticking around until they find someone! Friday (so...tomorrow) may or may not be my last day; it all depends on my health insurance (they want me to possible work through the first week of October, and if they haven't officially changed me over to part-time, I'll still be able to have health insurance through October. If they changed me, then I won't so there's not much reason for me to stick around). It's been nice only working three days a week (24ish hours), but every day feels like a Monday and a Friday.

I have another haul for you guys! I seem to do these weekly, though they are usually collective hauls; I've been buying things steadily (which really isn't better than buying everything all at once, but it sounds better) over the week or so and by the weekends it all piles up around my desk and it's time to put it away. Depending on my work situation, I might have to put a hold on buying much of anything besides food so...not sure what direction my blog/vlog will take. Maybe a Project X Pan/No Buy is in order...
I'll start with my Zoya order since it's the one I got first!

September 2014 Blush Mystery Beauty Box - Unboxing and Review!

Hello! Hope you're all having a good Tuesday! I...had kind of a hard day yesterday. I don't want to get too much into it here, I might actually make a separate post to talk about it, but we'll see. I don't like to "force" people into social interactions, especially when the situations are sad. Which doesn't make sense and is vague and I do apologize.

But! Let's move on for now and not dwell on things; I feel like the best thing one can do in these situations is continue life and living, even if it is hard at times. So I decided to blog! I know if I don't make myself do it, it never gets done and then I feel like I can't put my things away until I do blog about them and it all piles up and it gets crazy around my desk (I do have a desk, but I actually sit in our dinning room at our "kitchen table". It's not really a kitchen table and we have never, ever eaten on it. Ever.

For this post, I want to show you guys my September 2014 Blush Mystery Beauty Box! Spoiler alert: not sure how I feel about this box. It wasn't terrible, I can say I've had worse boxes, but it's not stellar, either. Also, I'm not sure if it lives up to it's "$100+ value" promise, which is not cool, Blush.com, not cool at all.

At least the free samples this time were pretty neat!

My Very First Darling Girl Cosmetics Order! - Review and Swatches!

Hello! Hope you're all having a great day! I have another "very first order" post to, well, post! I've been super interested in indie cosmetic companies ever since I got my first Glamour Doll Eyes OTM and I placed some orders with a few different companies; specifically with Glamour Doll Eyes, Darling Girl Cosmetics, and Geek Chic Cosmetics.

My Darling Girl Cosmetics order was the last to arrive since it had the longest turn-around-time (TAT) of 18-20 business days, but I'd say it was totally worth it!
Cute pink mailer! Kind of like the Ipsy pink mailers, except this one is matte (the Ipsy ones are more metallic).

My Very First Geek Chic Cosmetics Order! - Review and Swatches!

Hello! Hope you're all having a great start to the weekend! I touched up my hair color and took a super long shower, so I'm feeling pretty good! Unfortunately, it's already getting cold here and, while it makes it a little nicer walking to work (at least near the end; in the beginning it's cold and annoying), I hate the cold and am not looking forward to winter (especially after how hard last winter was).

For this post, I want to show you guys my very first Geek Chic Cosmetics order! I've been on an indie cosmetics kick and have been exploring what's out there, so I ordered from a couple different companies! I found Geek Chic Cosmetics through Instagram (which is addicting, especially if you find just the right tag to explore) and thought it would be fun to get some pigments based on the nerdy things I like.
Mysterious, poorly color-balanced manilla bubble mailer!

September 2014 Julep Maven Box - It Girl - Unboxing and Swatches!

Hello! Hope you're all having a happy Friday! It's been an intense week for me due to the holiday, work, and my health, but I'm hoping things will start to mellow out here and I'll get some time to relax. Hard to believe it's already September; soon the weather will change and get cold and then there will be snow and then I'll be forever wrapped up in 12 layers of sweaters. At least until the next thaw... /sigh

I'm not a big fan of this time of year (except for the candy and the food) and the transition from summer into fall is always a little rough on me. It doesn't help that the beauty world follows the seasons and all the colors change and, well, I'm just not a big fan of fall color schemes.

Unfortunately, the first signs of the color change come with my September 2014 Julep Maven box. I went with the It Girl box this time since I really, really don't need anymore lip products in my life (though...I really, really, super really don't need any more nail polish, but I justify it by the fact that nail polishes can last for years if stored properly).
Nail polish fun!
